| Ermita which means "hermitage" was the first religious building built in the place. This provided quarters for the missionaries and it was isolated from the group of houses below. It was here where the first Catholic Mass was said by the Spanish missionaries.
There used to be a big cross (destroyed by a strong typhoon) on the hill signify that event. |
